Gloria Rothrock

Gloria Rothrock was born in the farm country of Indiana where her love of nature took root in the rich midwestern soil. She now resides in Sedona Arizona where she is nourished and inspired by the mountains and expansive beauty of the desert.

Gloria’s need to create and express her passion permeates her life. She says “Being an artist is not a choice for me. It is a necessity.” For over 25 years Gloria has been a self-employed artist. Her work can be found in homes and businesses worldwide.

Currently Gloria is using a variety of materials to express her vision, including acrylic paints, oil crayons, pastels, ink, graphite, paper, fabric, and found objects. Having no formal training she is guided by her intuition. She sees it as an adventure to be a conduit for Spirit flowing through her heart and hands. Her work celebrates the dance of Spirit, nature, and humanity. Each piece reveals a strong sense of composition and exhibits her love of pattern, balance, and harmony.

Gloria enjoys exploring various ideas that pour forth from her inner eye. In recent times a favorite recurring subject has been her version of a Goddess icon. The icons depict multi-cultural, mixed ethnic women who are meditating. These reflect Gloria’s resonance with Sprit as manifested in the form of the Goddess or the Divine Feminine. She calls this series the Serenity Sisters.
